Guild Bulletin Board

Our Bulletin Board is for CQG members to list anything they think may be of interest to other CQG members.

If you want to "reach out" and contact your fellow guild members, send an email to the Web Manager with details of your project and a link or email contact. Be sure to indicate how long your notice should be listed.

New England Quilt Museum Fundraiser

The New England Quilt Museum is having an auction fundraiser on November 20 and you can help!

The theme is "It's In the Bag" and they are asking if you can provide a donation with a themelike "Reader's Delight", "Wine Lovers'," or "Weekend Escape" in any kind of bag: Handbag, tote bag, book bag, etc. If you can't donate an entire bag with contents, please consider donating a bag to put items in or maybe one or two items for inclusion in other bags. Items need to be received by the Museum on or before November 1.

For more information: download this or check out the New England Quilt Museum web site.

Help for the Quilt Show Needed!

As you know, we can only put on a show if we all get together and help. Our Guild Show Chairman is looking for people to help chair the following Show Committees (listed with descriptions of what you will need to do):

  • Program Sponsors. Ask local businesses if they would buy an ad in our program guide possibly adding a coupon for a percentage off of a meal or merchandise.
  • Publicity. Prepare and distribute press releases, fliers, postcards, posters containing information about the quilt show including our website and email information to be distributed to quilt shops, museum, visitor centers, local papers, other quilt shows etc.; seek town permission for signs.
  • Setup & teardown. Assist in hanging quilts, take down quilts and place them in bags, set up tables for admissions, raffle, food court and just be available to help other area chairpersons.
  • Quilt Registration. Distribute registration forms to members, collect forms for all quilts in the show and silent auction, design labels to be hung with quilts with the quilters information, foreward information to program guide.
  • Quilt check in & check out. Receive quilts for display giving receipts, work with layout persons to distribute quilts to proper area, take quilts down at the end of the show to bag & tag them for distribution to their owners.
  • Admissions. Greet visitors, answer question, collect fees, hand out program guides and viewers' choice ballots, hand out free gifts and controls volunteer sign in sheets.
  • White glove. Seek volunteers, give out white gloves, collect and clean after the show
  • Food court. Prepare lists and quantities of food, drink, paper goods and baked goods needed; ensure proper packaging and pricing; solicit donations of food and money from members and have sign up sheets for food or baked goods.

Please contact Sharon if you can help.

Comfort Quilts on Wednesdays

Join the Comfort Quilts Group at the Chelmsford Senior Center on Rt. 40 on Wednesday nights. The room (downstairs and to the left off the elevator) is open for us from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. When you arrive, please come in the main door and sign in at the computer. Select "guest" and then the "evening quilting group". This helps the center know how many people are using the space.

Bring a project—cutting, sewing, sandwiching, tying—and the supplies you will need. The room is bright and there are several tables—plenty of room to work. Come for all three hours or as long as you like. No commitment on your part—come whenever you can, do whatever you can. Questions? Contact Jean Whiting or Sue Lerch.

The Chelmsford Senior Center is on Rt 40, near Vinal Square.
